  • Indiana Commission for Women 2017 Torchbearer's Award

    Carol Curran, President and CEO of Phoenix Data Corporation, received a 2017 Torchbearer's Award from the Indiana Commission for Women.

  • NAWBO-Indianapolis 2016-17 Board President

  • Inside INdiana Business 2016

    Carol Curran, President and CEO of Phoenix Data Corporation, was again a guest on the weekend edition of Inside INdiana Business, having previously been on the show with Gerry Dick in 2013. Carol highlighted the company’s success in document management and other technologies for Indiana’s FSSA Eligibility Modernization project, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, U.S. Department of Defense, and more.   • 2014 Inc. 5000 Fastest-Growing Companies

    Phoenix Data Corporation is in the 2014 Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Based on revenues-growth over a three-year time period, Phoenix ranks #4167 on the list with a three-year growth rate of 69%. Previous winners of this distinction list have included world-renowned companies such as Microsoft, Timberland, Vizio, Intuit, Chobani, Oracle and Zappos.com, to name a few.     Carol Curran was selected as one of The Indianapolis Business Journal's 2013 Women of Influence, an award that recognized 21 central Indiana women who have become leaders in their fields. As one of the 2013 honorees, Carol Curran joins a distinguished group of women from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for making a difference.

    The Women of Influence Award recognizes some of Indianapolis’ most successful businesswomen from the public and private sectors while revealing the triumphs and challenges that have shaped their careers. The 2013 honorees include business owners and founders, presidents and CEOs, a chief operating officer, a chief financial officer, vice presidents, high-ranking government officials and an Indiana Supreme Court justice. Other positions include partner, chief diversity officer, executive director, senior counsel and director of research. All are high-profile women in positions of power. IBJ honored the 2013 Women of Influence at a recognition breakfast on October 31, 2013, at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. The 27th annual award program recognizes organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in information technology (IT).   • 2014 Central Indiana Top Workplaces

    Based solely on employee feedback, Phoenix Data Corporation was selected as one of central Indiana's Top Workplaces for 2014. For more than ten years, The Indianapolis Star has invited area employers to participate in The Top Workplaces survey, which is conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC. In just its first year of participation, Phoenix Data Corporation ranked as one of the Top Workplaces for companies with fewer than 149 employees. Comments from Phoenix staff members conveyed the emphasis the company places on respect and support for each individual. "Our management really cares about all of their employees," one respondent indicated. Phoenix makes "me feel important...always growing and learning." Additionally, employees indicated that the company shows "flexibility, respect and...appreciation for a job well done." Carol Curran believes selection as a Top Workplace reflects the company's focus of investing in employees. "It's all about our people. They're the ones working hard for the company's success.   • Inside INdiana Business

    Carol Curran, President and CEO of Phoenix Data Corporation, was a guest on the November 9th weekend edition of Inside INdiana Business. Highlighting the success of the company, Carol discussed its success as document manager for Indiana’s FSSA Eligibility Modernization project with Gerry Dick, host of the program. Carol also explained Phoenix Data Corporation’s newest technology, Particle Swarm Optimization, and its expanding role in electronic warfare for the U.S. Department of Defense.

  • 2013 Indiana Companies to Watch

    Phoenix Data Corporation has been recognized as one of the 2013 Indiana Companies to Watch, an awards program presented by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, its Small Business Development Center and the Edward Lowe Foundation. Thirty-three companies from across Indiana are being honored as outstanding second-stage companies as part of the fifth annual Indiana Companies to Watch awards.

    The awards celebrate Indiana’s privately-held second-stage companies, those businesses that are past the startup phase, are considered to be established, and face issues of growth, not survival. The Indiana companies being recognized in 2013 were chosen from more than 300 applicants, represent a wide range of industries and have headquarters based in 14 counties throughout Indiana.

    Phoenix Data Corporation was recognized by TechPoint , Indiana’s technology growth initiative, as a finalist in the 2013 Mira Awards for Technology Excellence and Innovation . The TechPoint Mira Awards annually celebrate the most innovative and successful technologies and technology companies, as well as entrepreneurs and educators.

    Phoenix Data Corporation was one of ten finalists for TechPoint’s Innovation of the Year Award, in a category with some of the world’s best technology companies, including Exact Target. Carol Curran, Phoenix CEO and President, proudly states, “This award demonstrates that our cutting-edge technologies are comparable to those of the most innovative technology companies—not just in Indiana, but on a national scale.”

    "We had the largest class of Mira Awards finalists ever this year.   • Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce 2012 Business of the Year

    Phoenix Data Corporation was named the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce 2012 Business of the Year. Carol Curran, owner and CEO of Phoenix, accepted the 2012 Business of the Year Award at the Greater Lawrence Chamber of Commerce Annual Membership Luncheon on September 11, 2012.

  • 2012 IEEE Computational Intelligence Society

    Phoenix Data Corporation’s Chief Technology Officer received the 2012 Computational Intelligence Society Evolutionary Computation Pioneer Award. The award, given by the Computational Intelligence Society of the Institue of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, recognizes "significant contributions to early concepts and sustained developments in the field of evolutionary computation." Dr. Eberhart, Chief Technology Officer at Phoenix Data Corporation (left), and his collaborator, Dr. James Kennedy (middle), received the award for their invention of Particle Swarm Optimization.

  • International Stevie Awards for Women in Business

    Carol Curran accepts the award for Most Innovative Use of Technology at the 2011 Stevie Awards

    Phoenix Data Corporation was selected as the 2011 Technology Innovator of the Year in the 8th Annual International Stevie Awards for Women in Business. The Stevie Awards honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run worldwide, and have been hailed as the world's premier business awards. Phoenix founder and CEO Carol Curran accepted the award at a gala ceremony in New York City honoring women executives and entrepreneurs from the United States and countries around the world.

    Phoenix Data Corporation was recognized for its unique application of Particle Swarm Optimization, a new patented technology which rapidly calculates multiple optimal solutions in ever-changing environments. Phoenix has focused this technology on creating strategic and tactical advantages in electronic warfare for the United States military, where one project for the Air Force Office of Scientific Research reduced mission planning time from two days to approximately 1.5 seconds. Phoenix Data Corporation is currently developing additional industry applications. Expansion of the company’s existing technology work includes engineering services, IT support, electronic Image conversion and integration, and technical personnel for the government, the U.S. military, health care and private industry.
