Both a successful entrepreneur and champion for women in business, Carol has dedicated her time and resources to connect women and encourage them to chase their dreams.
After selling an already flourishing business and going public, Carol, through self-funding formed Phoenix Data Corporation in 2001 to continue to enhance her analytics and machine learning and software development, and realizing her firm’s need in niche industries, she worked with customers to develop and accumulate numerous contracts based on their specific needs for the State of Indiana, The United States Department of Defense, Health care and logistics businesses, utilizing cybersecurity and cloud along with other Federal and State agencies, (as well as the private sector) including their Fed Ramp/Red Rack certifications.
In addition to her professional work, Carol is highly involved with many boards and multiple health associations in Indianapolis. She is the past President of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), Indianapolis chapter, the current president of the NAWBO Foundation and serves as an advisory board member for Enterprising Women. Carol also finds time to serve as a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, Women in Defense and has served on the National Advisory Board Key4 Women as part of Key Corp’s focus on women in business. She also serves on the IU Advisory Board/School of Engineering & Technology. Most recently, Carol received a 20-yearHonorary Award for Technology from Enterprising Women.
Outside of work and serving on multiple boards, Carol focuses on her family and enjoys sailing, boating, skiing, and dancing.
Carol stands by her core values of “courage, commitment, compassion, and character”, and displays those traits to everyone she does business with. Her commitment to her employees is foremost and she serves as a tireless advocate for women in business, as well as women everywhere serving as inspiration for others.

David Smith, Chief Operating Officer (COO), directs and leads multiple lines of business at Phoenix Data Corporation and oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions.
Considered an industry pioneer and having been published in Forbes, Smith has high-level accomplishments that include a strategic rollout of pharmaceutical/manufacturing print programs for Eli Lilly and developing a cost containment program for BCBS. Smith’s portfolio also includes working for large corporations that include the United States Air Force, Lockheed Martin, Anthem and Xerox.
Alongside his professional accomplishments, Smith is continually giving back and mentoring students to understand and utilize their strengths. Smith holds a BS in marketing from Indiana Wesleyan University and is certified in Six Sigma.
After majoring in accounting at Ball State, Vickie joined Phoenix Data Corporation (then known as Curran Data) in 1989 as an Administrative Assistant and Accounting Manager. In 1995 Vickie decided to pursue a career outside of Phoenix Data Corporation and began serving as an accountant for a property management firm.
In 2002, Vickie took on additional responsibilities when she and her husband took on a business venture while she continued her role as an accountant at the property management firm.
Vickie returned to Phoenix Data Corporation in 2009 as the Secretary/Treasurer with additional responsibilities including accounting and treasurer. Vickie currently serves as Secretary of the Corporation.
Vickie is busy as a mother of three, a business owner, and a valued member of the Leadership Team at Phoenix Data Corporation.
David Schuster brings over two decades of experience in health care to his role as Business Development Director at Phoenix Data Corporation.
Considered an expert in Medicaid and Medicare, some of Schuster’s notable accomplishments include being appointed by the governor of Tennessee to initiate health care modernization that led to Tennessee being recognized as one of the best Medicaid Agencies by CMS at a national conference. Schuster also served on the Federal Medicare Beneficiary Protection Program Redesign that resulted in saving millions of dollars and improving the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries throughout the United States.
Outside of work, Schuster serves on multiple foundation boards that include Ignite Health Foundation, Ignite Health Corporation, ARC Healthcare Holdings and Servant Focused Foundation. Schuster also enjoys mentoring leaders and pastors, resulting in planting a non-denominational church in Miami, Florida. Schuster holds a BS in accounting from Syracuse University.
Robert Prasuhn joined Phoenix Data Corporation as an accounting finance controller in 2019. In his role, Prasuhn manages day-to-day finances, accounting and tax responsibilities for Phoenix Data Corporation and Phoenix Health. In 2020 Rob was promoted to Controller for Phoenix Data Corporation.
When he became a member of the Phoenix staff, Prasuhn bought over 20 years of experience and holds expertise in finance, accounting and business strategy planning. Having worked for companies including Kellogg, Brown & Root (NYSE: KBR), Franciscan Alliance and Republic Airways, Prasuhn’s diverse industry experience has allowed him to implement operational and process improvements that saved both time and money for multiple entities.
Prasuhn holds a BS in accounting from Purdue University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Ball State University.
Kathy Murphy has been a team member with Phoenix Data Corporation for over a decade. Having joined May 5, 2008, Kathy serves as the Human Capital Director, guiding and managing all facets of talent acquisition and development. She enjoys maximizing return on investment with the highest quality team, assets and programs while helping to create the spirit of the Company.
Her passion is supporting the growth and development of individuals and teams. Her most notable career accomplishments to date are the startups and successful operations of two human resource departments in both IT and manufacturing companies. Her most rewarding accomplishment has been being part of a multidisciplinary team that started a Child Advocacy Center which allows abused children to receive coordinated services for their healing.
Murphy holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication with a specialization in Public Relations. She serves on several Boards and enjoys raising funds and awareness for various organizations that she and her family support.
